I’m not sure it’s a note-worthy “fun fact” that raccoons are related to bears, since they’re only related by Order (i.e. they’re both carnivores). So they’re pretty much equally related to bears as they are to dogs and walruses.

They were once thought to be part of the bear Family, but it turned out they’re not.
