Power Play

So I guess this is my first really reals late update. But I stayed up to finish it because it was the right thing to do! This is a doozy of a strip, and for good reason: I’ll be taking a 2-3 week break from The Intrepid Girlbot starting on Monday. This is for several reasons, the main one being that I need the time to design a great new site that you guys will like a lot more. This old set-up was just what I considered good enough to get the site launched back last March when I was getting impatient. The new site will be much easier on the eyes, better organized and with more content.

Girlbot’s also been taking a toll on me lately, which is the big reason for all the late updates. I’ve got a million things going on right now, and I’ve built the comic up into something that takes a lot of effort, which is the opposite of what I originally intended. I’m not so exasperated as to give up on it, but I do need to step back and take care of some other things for a little bit.

For the next two weeks, I’ve got some really fantastic guest strips lined up, all by talented cartoonists who were kind enough to make me a little something. After that, I may have another week of some sort of filler, but I’ll make sure it’s all worth checking out.

And since you took the time to at least skim this newspost, here’s a little bonus comic strip for you, what I think Girlbot would be like if it were distributed by a newspaper syndicate instead of online, where it belongs:

I’ll make another post about the break in the non-comic blog, in case anyone gets confused.
